In March 2019, the Construction Technology Cluster (CTC) celebrates its first year
of establishment.
With the management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya (CCIPB),
it was established on the 21 March 2018, with the cooperation of 15 general contractors.
During the past year, the cluster has developed its own image and has contacted
several institutions, schools and companies for joint cooperation.
One of the primary objectives of the cluster was the development of vocational
training and the reduction of labor shortages in the construction industry
by supporting labor supply.
To achieve this, members took part in several school events, job fairs, and offered
the cluster's help in career guidance.
During the first year, there was also a building competition announced for primary
school students, called Épít-Ésszel.
Several cluster members took part in the final, where the students had to perform
the tasks which the cluster members invented.
In addition, other cluster members supported the competition with gifts and valuable prizes.
In view of the success of the competition, it will be organized next year as well.
The cluster also contributed to the creation of two short films, the bricklayer,
and the carpenter's profession to encourage students to choose these paths.
A third film about the painting profession is under preparation.
The cluster continues to work in 2019, with the goal of implementing a first
cluster-level investment.
